After being cooped up in the house all winter, my boys discovered something while in Zambia.... FREEDOM! Or at least an amount, that Mom and Dad's big walled in yard provided. When you think of a wall most people don't think of it as being freedom, but in my mind I think that the kids are contained, they can come inside and outside as they please and I am not worried that they are outside the yard and I am not worried that a Moose or Bear will do them any harm. Playing outside in Alaska doesn't let me let my guard down to much, But at my parents house, Kaden and Isaiah had a taste of freedom. Plus with all the windows open in the house you can hear and see everything that they are doing. When we got back Kaden informed me "Mommy When I grow up I want to be an Opa!" And I asked him why an Opa? He then informed me "Then I could live with Oma, Play with Opa and all my friends ALL Day, and I would never have to get on an airplane and fly away!" Kind of broke my heart. I want to be a Oma too when I grow up! My kids, played outside from the time they woke up to the time it got dark and they had to come inside. With all that playing Bath night happened EVERY NIGHT!1 Boys will be boys and rocks, dirt and trees were all part of their daily playing! I am still finding rocks and sand in my washing machine! =) The other thing my boys learned was CONCRETE is NOT a friend to knees, elbows, faces or any other part of the body. Both boys had battle scars from Day ONE! I told Kaden he could make up some really cool story for each one. This scar is from fighting a Lion, This one the Baboons chased me up a tree.... Kaden then informed me that that would be lying! OK, Smartie, I would have told a really good story about the tree root that came to life and jumped up and grabbed me! Guess that is why my husband tells me he never believes some of my stories, because I am really good at exaggerating my point!=) What can I say, I am a Hunter and a Fisherman, and a Daughter and granddaughter of both of those too! Anyways Back to my story on freedom! Here are some pictures of my boys enjoying their freedom in the great out-BACK! (sounds adventurous doesn't it?)
Brothers! Whatever Kaden did, Isaiah would try!
Good thing Kaden is not as adventurous as Isaiah is or they would be jumping off the roof with a garbage bag like my brother told me was safe to do!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PICTURE!!!!
Kaden with our workers boys, Daniel(the goofy 6 year old) and Moses(4 years old).
Daniel~Such a cute boy!
PULL!
PULL!
TO MUCH PULLING!
(Kaden loved being able to wear sandals and shorts all day and loved how soft the grass was.
Can't really go bare foot in cranberry bog can you?)
This face makes me wonder what is he thinking of getting into?
Enjoying the swings in the yard!
Isaiah hanging out with Martha
Opa got him!
Another tackle on the soft grass
Cuteness thinking he is big stuff playing outside all by himself with the big boys!!
With little boys everything in the yard became a weapon,
Seedpods became swords and Oma's Elephant ear plants became Indiana Jones whips.
This is one of my favorite pictures!!! Oma and the boys!
Kaden, Isaiah, Moses and Daniel
I miss your parents. They're really awesome people. Your boys are truly blessed.
