Kilimanjaro!

OK so we are NOT climbing the tallest mountain in the Africa and we are A LONG  WAY from the actual mountain, But we did have some fun time at the Kilimanjaro Cafe! It is a nice little Restaurant outside of Lusaka with some fun things for kids to do while adults can have tea and lunch. We got to meet some friends there and all of our kids had fun running around, riding ponies, jumping on trampolines, and playing in the sand box. That is where my kids spent most of the time... in the sand box. I think it is some sort of attraction between boys and dirt! But they had a great time and so did we. It is so nice to meet old friends and meet new friends! It makes the world more fun when I can say I have friends in so many countries!
As I said my boys played in the sand box most of the time. There may be more pictures of them riding horses but how many pictures do you actually need to justify the point that they played in the sand box? So to spare you the time of scrolling through those pictures I just posted one!=)
He is a cowboy in the making!  But every time I see these pictures that song about "Momma's Don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys" pops into my head=)
"Make um, be doctors and lawyers and such!"( Insert country accent here)
 YEEHAW!!
One thing that we found at the Kilimanjaro Cafe were some REALLY COOL Bird Mobiles.  Keith and I bought 5 of them, plus a really neat 3 Kings one( to celebrate 3 Kings Day, which I will have to blog about sometime) It was probably quite comical to watch us I am sure since all the mobiles are hanging from a very high ceiling and each one is different. Lots of bird combinations. So Keith and I would look at ALL of them and then try to remember which combination of birds we wanted. Then walk around and find a different combination that we wanted. We kept going in circles with our heads pointed up. IT TOOK A LONG TIME to find the ones we wanted but we did! They are really neat and since Keith is a avid birder he wanted real Zambian birds. As I said it was probably very comical to watch.  But we are so excited to have them. I have them hanging in all our windows  in the house. Here are 2 of them for you to see.

This one has a Grey(top) and a Green(bottom right)  Laurie Birds and a Carmine Bee Eater. I think these are the real names, but you may want to ask Keith.I am just the spotter.  I just say Hey look at the Pretty Little Red Bird. ( thus the name the PLR Bird)  =) hehehehe
This one has a Barbet (top)
White Something Bee Eater (left) Malachite King Fisher(center)
Lilac breasted Roller (Right~ I know that one when I see it! Tis one of my favorite birds!!)
