The African Queen

I don't know if any of you have seen the movie "African Queen" Starring Katherine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart, but is is one of my MANY favorite movies! I can imagine myself floating down an African river and getting to see all the wildlife on the bank. I think it would be a lot of fun to just float a river...OK not the whole going over a water fall and rapids bit, but the African boat safari would be awesome. Well at the Chobe Safari Lodge, they offer a boat safari that is fantastic. If any of you ever go I would strongly advise it! I have done MANY MANY MANY car safaris but the boat gave you a whole new viewing opportunity. Seeing animals from the car is great but being able to see animals at eye level when they are getting drinks of water was awesome! The boat we went on was a big pontoon boat, which allowed you to walk around, get drinks, and move to the best location to take pictures of animals. There was a upper deck that Keith occupied most of the trip. The boys, my parents and I stayed down stairs most of the trip. With rails around the whole boat, the boys enjoyed being able to walk around and Mom and I didn't have to worry so much that they would fall out of the boat. It was so relaxing and the weather was warm with not a cloud in the sky! We saw so many animals and had a great time! Keith got some GREAT Photos with his really big camera but he has not got them processed yet so I think I will post these now and do a separate post later with his pictures.

It was fantastic! Check out my cool sunburn from the Ferry crossing earlier in the day! Yeah living in Alaska made me forget that people actually use sunscreen in other places in the world.
