I Dream Of Africa!

Do you ever dream of the perfect day or your perfect relaxing place and having all the perfect things in that dream. I do. My dreams always lead my mind to Africa. I  guess you can call it my happy place. When I get homesick for Africa I just create my happy place with all the things I would love to have in that moment. I can picture the weather being sunny but not to hot, with a light breeze. I can picture myself at a game park being able to watch animals come to the watering hole to drink, and of course the watering hole is right next to the deck of the beautiful thatched roof lodge. The grass and trees are green from the rains. The Smell of Africa is on the wind. (and that is a distinct smell. If you have been to Africa, You know the smell I am talking about. If you haven't been, I have no idea how to explain it, So my suggestion is to go to Africa and smell it yourself. Once you experience it you will never forget it!) Now that I have gone off of my story...... I can picture myself sitting at a table with relaxing chairs with some hot tea in a pot, served with cream, sugar and some biscuits(for those of you who don't know, these are what Americans call cookies.) I can hear the animal calls and birds singing. Oh it is a lovely dream! I could get used to that perfect Happy place. My happy place is based mostly off of the Protea Safari Lodge. It is one of the most relaxing places I love to visit when in Zambia. It is about 45 minutes outside of Lusaka, and my dad used to hunt for their restaurant, so we would go out there a lot when I live in Lusaka. It is fun now to take my family out to visit. We went and hung out for the day and had fun. We got to play on their fun playground and see some neat animals. It is one pretty place. I love it!
Playing on the playground

Big stuff right there!=)
Swinging with a little Help from Oma
The Lodge has a Kudu that they have raised from a baby. I remember the first time we went out there and they were feeding it with a bottle. Now it is a grand mother and actually had a baby too! Chisamba is so pretty and BIG!
Kaden petting Chisamba
She had an itch!
I don't remember her name but the lodge also had a pet bush-buck, which they raised from a baby too.
Kaden checking out the Bush-buck
Taking a Walk on the Wild side, to go see the Lodges lions.
Love this picture of my boys with Oma & Opa!
Lions, yes they were in a cage, we would have loved to see wild ones but I am glad they were in a cage while we were walking. These were huge!!
Kaden and Opa with the Lions.
Okay so in my perfect place we don't have to defend our biscuits and tea from a Kudu that LOVES to eat bread.
Scouting out what food we had!
Zeroing on on the bread!
Kaden not to sure about the Kudu joing the tea party.
Another animal joining the party
Me in my Happy Place =)
