If a Moose eats your Broccoli, she will want the Cabbage too!

If it was moose season and if you were allowed to shoot a female moose, the moose that keeps visiting our garden would be stored in my freezer! Keith had been gone to NCTC for training and I was in charge of guarding the garden. Well you can only guard it so much till they get smart. One brave moose managed to get one broccoli before Daisy started barking like crazy. I then was able to throw logs, rocks and anything I could get my hands on and scare her away, but she came back many times during the night. I stayed up all night defending those veggies. That sneaky moose came in when Daisy and I were tired, and ate all the broccoli and Keith's prize winning cabbage. I was so sad, I called Keith in West Virginia. We were both upset. This is what a Prized Cabbage looks like after attacked.
So my solution was to ask so of the men in our church to help me build a fortress around the plants. This is the results of our hard work. In Galena you use whatever supplies you have on hand.

Happy Independence Day!

" It is absolutely clear that God has called you to a free life. Just make sure that you don't use this freedom as a excuse to do whatever you want to do and destroy your freedom. Rather use your freedom to serve one another in love; that's how freedom grows. For everything we know about God is summed up in a single sentence: Love others as you love youself. That's an act of true freedom."~Galatians 5:13 from the Message

I am so thankful for being able to live in such a great country! I am thankful for the freedoms we have. I am thankful for the men and women who died to give me those freedoms! July fourth was a great day of celebration in Galena. The whole community comes together to enjoy lunch, races, and good times. Hot dogs, Hamburgers chips and Jello, How much more American can you get?=) It was a wonderful lunch, and we had a fun time watching and participating in races. Kaden got to be in the races for his age group and had a wonderful time. The weather was great and we had a fabulous time! We even had fireworks to celebrate though you can't see them with 24 hours of daylight., but the smoke and the bangs were pretty fun to watch and listen too. hahaha We hope your Day of Independence was great and that you too can enjoy the freedoms we all were given.
