There was a Man from Kafue
Who liked to eat chop suey
He fell in a Pot
that was so very hot
and then he went Achooie!
I don't know WHY I still remember this poem, but One of the ways we entertained ourselves on long trips was to make poems about things we saw on the trip. On this particular trip, I was riding with Aunt Fred and Uncle Joy (don't ask me why we called them like that but we did!) We were all headed to Kariba Zimbabwe for our annual Mission Meeting and I know there were other MK's(missionary kids) in the car. I think it was the Mitchell kids and I want to say the Mooney kids. I am a bit fuzzy on those details. I can't remember who all were there. But It was a FUN trip! Aunt Fred always had us laughing and was the best joke teller. Some reason this poem that we made up about the town of Kafue, has stuck in my head and WON"T LEAVE! Trust me, every time I drive through Kafue or cross the Kafue River, I try NOT to say this poem but it is STUCK IN MY HEAD! I don't know the Kafue mans name but I do hope he gets over his allergy to chop suey!
