Blueberry Picking

I guess I got spoiled living in Florida. There was a farm down the road in Inverness that you could go pick your own Blueberries. I loved going with our friends to get blueberries. Each bush had hundreds of berries and the berries were as big as grapes. They were so juicy and sweet and every year we would go pick buckets of berries and freeze them or make my famous Blueberry Pound cake. Yum!! How nice would it be to be able to fill a bucket in just an hour or so. Here where we live there are tons of plants but sadly there are not many berries on the bushes. It would take days to fill up a bucket here. Is it bad that I tried to distract Kaden so he wouldn't eat ALL of the berries. He thought if they were squishy he got to eat them. Well by the time he picked them and squished them they were all for him to eat. It became a race to see if I could beat him to the bushes and pick them and put them all in my bucket before he put them in his mouth. Lets just say my little bucket didn't get too full!

This Plant was LOADED with Berries... SEE! Kaden hunting down the berries
My biggest competition, seeing as he ate most of the ones he picked!
Braving the Bears, Bugs and Rain!
There is just something about picking berries and having to look up every few minutes to make sure you are not sharing the berry patch with a bear!
This was Keith's bucket, Mine didn't have much more then his.
I really miss picking blueberries in Florida!
