On the Sixth day of Christmas....

"On the sixth day of Christmas, my True Love gave to me, 6 Geese a laying"

My experience with geese is not a very good one. In Zambia, we lived on a farm for about a year and we had 2 of them in our front yard. They were loud and the BEST guard geese we could have. NOBODY got into our yard without the geese letting us know about it! The geese were also mean! They like to bite! But for some reason the person that wrote this song thought it romantic to use geese as the gift for the sixth day. I wonder why they picked geese, why not penguins or wood ducks. Those are both pretty and cute. But since I didn't write the song I will just tell you what the song means.

Six Geese a laying symbolizes the 6 days of Creation in the book of Genesis. If you were to buy 6 geese that lay eggs would cost you $210. So today my true love bought me....
6 geese a laying ~$210
5 golden rings ~$750
4 calling birds ~$519.96
3 French Hens ~$165
2 Turtle Doves ~ $125
and A Partridge in a Pear tree ~$204.99

All together the gifts cost $1,974.95 WOW! Money is being spent! This song is getting really expensive!
