5 years ago, I had a fallen on the tile floor and that night I had the worst back pain ever! I kept thinking I must have pulled some muscle in my very pregnant body. I had 3 more weeks to go till my due date and as Keith said this turkey was done! Literally, my belly button popped out like a Turkey timer! (At the time it was not very funny the way he said it, but it is funny to laugh at now...Word of advice to expectant fathers, don't tell your pregnant wife that she is like a turkey when it's done, or that she is your "little" pumpkin. It just might not go over very well and you might have a very tearful woman on your hands!) Anyways, as the night went on the pain in my back was intense! After a night of no sleep I woke Keith around 4 am telling him I think we should go check it out. I was worried it would hurt my baby and I didn't want to take any chances. So we drove to the hospital and checked in. They put me on a baby monitor to make sure he was not in distress. He wasn't and after having a check up, the doctor said I must have pulled a muscle in the fall and gave me a muscle relaxer. We drove to the pharmacy, picked up the prescription and decided to go to one of my favorite breakfast restaurant, Cinnamon Sticks! I took the medicine and didn't realize that one of the side affects was drousiness, to the point of I almost fell asleep in my platter of pancakes. Keith got me to the car and drove me home and I was excited to sleep the day away. So I curled up in my warm cozy bed and fell asleep and then something happened. I woke up to the feeling like I was peeing in the bed.... I rushed tot eh bathroom and realized my water had just broke......DON'T PANIC.........I told myself that for about 10 minutes while I thought through all the steps the Doctor had told me. When contractions start wait till they are about 5 minutes apart to head to the hospital. If your water breaks....GET HERE ASAP! OK I remember that ASAP! So I yell for Keith.
"Hey Love we need to go back to the hospital"
Keith: "Why we just got back from there?"
Me: " My water just broke"
Keith: " I thought that was suppose to happen AFTER the contractions start"
Me; "Well I guess we skipped a few steps"
Keith: " Are you sure your water just broke?"
Me: "Uuuhhh, Yeah!"
So after heading back to the hospital, checking in again, they rolled me back to the maternity ward. After a FAST delivery, at 8:25 pm, Keith and I were handed a beautiful baby boy!
Kaden Michael Ramos
7 lbs 5.5 oz
20 1/2 inches long
(this picture is when he was about 4 weeks old)
How is it that 5 years have gone by since Kaden joined our family? I know I say this every birthday but where do the years go? Kaden is growing so fast and enjoying life. He is starting to read words and is always curious! Talking in rhymes is a normal way of talking in our house and I feel like I live with Dr. Suess! But in honor of Kaden's 5th birthday we had a Knightly Party. We invited his friends and asked them to dress in their best princess and knight costumes
He really wanted a castle cake so I did my best to create a cake to please my sweet boy. I think it was a success and more importantly Kaden thought it was the "COOLEST" cake ever.... YAY!!
We played Pin the Fire on the Dragon. But since Kaden didn't want to scare some of the girls coming to the party we made him a friendly dragon. ANd the girls got to pin a flower on the dragon not a fire ball!=) I was inspired to draw this by my favorite dragon Elliot on Pete's Dragon. Turned out pretty good an butcher paper makes great coloring paper!=)

Sir Tim the Arctic Knight~Duct Tape makes a GREAT Knight costume!
