Give Me S'More Weather

You know those days where the sun is shining, the temperature is perfect, the leaves are golden and the great outdoors is just calling you to come play outside? Yeah, after a week of temps in the 20's it warmed up to a perfect day that just called us to be outside. So much so that the kids didn't want to come it to eat. Kaden was playing with our neighbor Ida. I think Karin came up with an idea of having a S'more snack. Since she didn't have chocolate I contributed some to the cause. It was then while Mr. Tim was building the fire for the awesome snack that I got drawn into the whole idea and suggested grabbing some hotdogs and roasting those for dinner. Who cares for the dinner plans I had waiting for us inside, those can wait till tomorrow. Hot dogs were calling my name, so I ran upstairs grabbed the dogs and dressed the kids up for dinner outside. Tim had made pizza dough for their dinner that night and that became our buns. Yep, we wrap those hotdogs in the pizza dough and roasted them over the fire. BRILLIANT IDEA!! It was actually quite delicious! Hotdogs and S'Mores roasted over the fire, can dinner get any better? I have always felt dinner cooked over fire always taste better. And I love how spontaneous it was to do and it ended up being as Kaden said "the BEST MEAL EVER!" And then he has wanted to do it everyday since. I must admit it was a wonderful time and I am glad we have neighbors that allowed us to crash the snack idea and add dinner into the equation. It was a fabulous time and I am now wishing for S'More of that great weather!=)
