Friday Night, in honor of the Olympics, we threw a Olympic party. We invited friends to the Royal event and had some great Fish & Chips and other yummy food. Then we sat and watched the interesting opening ceremonies. I say interesting because if someone has to explain what everything represents then I think it a little "interesting". I must say we had some funny commentators talking at our house. We had different nationalities represented and flags hanging around the living room. In our guest book we had everyone sign up for their favorite sport that they would play during the Olympics. Keith had Ping Pong and we call it that because who doesn't get a kick out of saying Ping Pong. Try saying that 10 fast... =) Kaden signing up for Fencing. He is really into Star Wars and Light sabers and stuff like that so I think it fits him great! Isaiah we signed up for Water Polo. He loves water and playing balls so he has the best of both. He was also designated the official food taster of the Olympics. He is the best boy to go around and get bites from every-bodies plates. I signed up Synchronized diving and Synchronized swimming. My program is VERY DRAMATIC! You have to watch it. It might move you to tears. We had other sports covered like Basketball, weight lifting, skee shooting, archery, doggie paddle swimming, and a toddler soccer head coach. It was a great party!
A cake I made.
Forgot that the Olympic flag is white but everything is better in Chocolate!
These are my Olympic Torches, but in my mind they turned out more grand then they actually did. I remembered something I learned a few years ago but forgot, that if you use Egg Replacer in boxed mixes they blow up while cooking, thus the reason I usually make things from scratch. Anyways. My cupcakes in a cone were a great idea but next time I will do it from scratch. And the icing i have not mastered yet and my kitchen was hot and helped the flame get extinguished a little. They still were cute and they were gone pretty fast so I guess they were good.
I realized that I didn't take pictures during the party but mostly before. But here we are waiting till more people arrive. See my Zambian and USA flag and Puerto Rican Flag? Keith said that the Puerto Rican Flag is small but when you look at it you see it being the same size.
Jeremy making the Chips. Keith fried the fish and it was DELICIOUS!
I Declare the Olympic games OPEN!
