Moose Hunting

After working at the check station, Keith went out 3 weeks of Moose hunting. Since you have to be an Alaskan resident for a year before you can hunt last year we were unable to hunt. This year both Keith and I could get a tag and since our community has a bunch of new families that are unable to hunt we really wanted to be able to get a moose and share. He did not get a moose this year but learned a lot about moose hunting. He did see many females with calves but since you are not allowed to shoot a female moose he didn't get to take a shot. Chris and Keith checked many times to see if the young moose had grown any antlers in the last few minutes but after receiving a lot of grief and jokes about Keith hunting a small bear, he made it clear he would not be shooting a young moose! =) Oh how he will never be able to live that one down! Not that we would actually let him. hehehehehe Here are some pictures of his hunting adventures that he had with Chris Kopp, Jason Harris, Jason Kopp and Steve Pavish. As I said he was out 3 weeks so he went with whoever was available.

What a pretty view... To bad there was not a male moose among the 9 females that they saw
Beautiful Alaskan Moon~looks so close you could touch it!
