Got meat....cook some rice!

Our pastor is from Louisiana and his famous quote when wondering what kind of meat is presented to you is " Hey what is that?, Don't know but cook some rice" I guess this is some kind of Cajun quote, so when you are around here and someone has some Lynx, Rabbit, or even moose, someone is going to use Chris' quote "Don't know cook some rice!" Well while Keith was hunting, I had the opportunity to go cut meat a few times and get some moose meat. This was great since we did not get a moose this year and we were able to fill our freezer with meat from other people. We got some meat from Rand who is the school cook. He gets a lot of meat from guided tours that donate their meat to him and his rule is cut it and give half to the elders in the community and you get to keep the other half. Well we cut as much meat as we could and got to help others cut meat too. I must say it is more fun with more people to help and talk to. But I have discovered I do NOT want to be a Butcher when I grow up!!

Our church had a mission team here of 4 guys from Louisana to help with some renovations to the church and they came also to help with the community. While they were here they cut wood, fixed the church, help fix peoples houses, and they cut meat for 5 families. We were one of them. They came over and stayed late into the night helping us process meat! THANK YOU GUYS!! I can not say it enough. Keith and I appreciate it so much! Well these are some pictures of them helping with our meat. We have decided cutting meat with a bunch of Louisiana guys is extremely fun and laughing seemed to make the process go a lot faster!
