We Gather Together...

Thanksgiving Day was a wonderful, relaxing, and cozy day! After being in Galena 3 years this is our FIRST Thanksgiving to spend here. Yes, every year we have been out for Thanksgiving. It was nice to finally spend one here. We had a scrumptious meal with our neighbors, Tim and Karin, along with their daughter Ida, Karin's parents and then Brother Justin. The food was delicious and we needed a wheelbarrow to roll us back over to our house later that evening. Tim fried a turkey, Karin made sausage cranberry stuffing, corn casserole, sweet potatoes, green beans and pumpkin pie. Keith smoked a turkey(yes there was an abundance of turkey), I made mashed potatoes, rolls, cranberry jello salad, buttermilk pecan pie, sweet tea and Wassail! We did not go hungry at all! We came home with lots of leftovers and what is better then thanksgiving left overs?  It was delicious!
Keith seasoning his turkey.
It is an art. Bacon butter and Adobo.......This type of turkey makes me believe in yummy turkey!
Table is set and waiting for the food! IN the middle of the table was a bowl of acorns that we passed around and took one and the passed the bowl around again and people would say what they were thankful for. Kaden said warm houses(at -20 we were glad it was warm inside too) I was very thankful for skype which makes us able to talk to my parents on the other side of the world.
 Enjoying the FEAST!!
After dinner, there was games and of course talking. It was fun to talk with Brother Justin who was a missionary in Zaire for 10 years. It was fun to talk about Africa and talk in some Swahili. God always seems to bring someone into my life, to remind me that Africa is everywhere even in Alaska!
Isaiah and Mr. Tim created a really cool marble run!
 He was fascinated!
