Merry Texas Christmas Y’all!

While Maine handles a whopper of a winter storm, being dump on with snow, and dealing with brutally cold temperatures, we have been handling a Texas Christmas. A few days before Christmas we were wearing shorts, then we had to dig out our heavy coats as it dropped to the teens for a while, and now we are back to T-shirt’s and shorts. Trying to enjoy all the heat I can before Wednesday before we head home. -30 degrees windchills are waiting.... brrrrr

Texas has been wonderful! Family time, visiting friends, and enjoying as much Mexican food as I can. I love that it’s alway’s Taco time in Texas! Keith and I have eaten a lot, but thankfully they haven’t run out yet. We had a sweet time with my grandparents and of course a crazy time with my  parents. Oma and Opa’s House is always a zoo that my monkeys seem to thrive in. Lots of laughs, dark sword fights( it’s a Oma thing) and just good times. My kids have helped pick up pounds of pecans and helped crack and shell them. They have delivered  cookies to neighbors and have helped make Christmas special to those around them.

Hanging out with Grandma

Both Keith’s brother and my brother got to be here for Christmas. Having all the cousins together was special. I love that we could all be together. We missed having Keith’s parents who finally got to return to Puerto Rico after the hurricane and PRAISE the Lord, got their electricity on the day after they returned. 100+ days with no power. I will never complain about my power outage again. It was a sweet time together with games, food and family fellowship. I really needed a Christmas with my family.

We have watched and cheered for the high school basketball teams and everywhere we go for some odd reason, they know I’m my mothers daughter. Complete strangers come up and ask if I’m Lindys daughter? Yes I am. Maybe it’s my southern draw that multiplies down here. It’s just so easy to revert to. The country just slips out. And if people say I’m like my momma, I take that as a complement! I hope I grow up to be like her.

This time has been special, I’m so glad we could be here. Yes I’m ready to get home but being with family has been so wonderful! Getting home was a bit of a challenge for Keith due to the blizzard that blew in the day he was traveling. Hoping it won’t be like that when we travel Wednesday!
