During the winter trapping months Keith and Jason our good friend and neighbor formed a Puerto Rican Trappers Association. NO Jason is not Puerto Rican but don't ask me why they call themselves that.=) They went out trapping together and helped each other. Well now that it is Spring they had to figure out a new endeavor and so now they have decided to start the PRTA Puerto Rican Tappers Association. That way they can keep the same hat with their logo for all year round. Again don't ask me. Anyways
Here in Alaska we don't have Maple trees but we do have Birch trees, and from what I am told the sap makes a very yummy syrup. Keith and Jason have research all about tapping Birch trees so since it is warming up and the Sap is now starting to flow they have tapped into a bunch of trees to get some sap. It takes 100 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of Syrup. So they just hope they get enough sap to make enough for at least one pancake.=)=)
